PageLime is a remote content management application that gives users more control. The simple system allows users to publish changes and new pages to their websites quickly. The system also allows users to edit text, images and links and tag editable regions. PageLime requires no software download or installation. The user only has to add the PageLime CMS-editable CSS class to their HTML code on their website. Users can also manage all of their websites from one place. The user creates their client login and can set permissions and begin updating content. The integration process takes a matter of minutes and the user doesn’t have to change any coding. PageLime is also functional with templates without altering them. A white label version is available that allows users to add their own logos and color scheme as well as a custom domain. Built in reseller tools give users a way to earn extra cash using PageLime.

What is the history and popularity of the app?

PageLime was founded in April of 2008 by Thomas Mcleod and Emil Anticevic. The current team consists of less than five individuals based out of Bethesda, Maryland. PageLime was originally created to provide a hosted CMS (content management system) that would cater to web developers, agencies and designers.

What are the differences to other apps?

The convenience of PageLime makes it appealing to many potential users. Adding new content to multiple web pages manually can take a great deal of time, especially if code must be edited. PageLime allows users to quickly and painlessly integrate the application into their existing website without altering templates or creating code. The system also allows users to easily update content for multiple sites from a single online location.

How does the web app look and feel to use?

The PageLime website welcomes professional visitors with a stylish, yet clean appearance. The white background is offset by unique, stylish icons and graphics. The PageLime logo compliments the site in black with a small, green lime dotting the I. Seven sleek navigation buttons in black assist newcomers in finding their way around the site. The application is overall very easy to use and encourages simplicity.

How does the registration process work?

Visitors can become PageLime members by clicking either the dark blue “Sign up” button at the upper, right hand corner of the homepage or the green “Start using PageLime for free” button found near the center of the page. Both buttons directs the user to the membership plan page where they must select one of four options. After clicking the corresponding green “Select” button for their chosen plan, the user is asked to provide an email address and password. Users can also log in through an existing Google, Yahoo, OpenID, Facebook, AOL or Twitter account. Those who go the traditional route are asked to enter a Captcha code to prove that they are human and check a terms of use agreement box. After doing so the user’s account is created and they can log in.

What does it cost to use the application?

Users are given the option of four memberships. The first is a free membership which allows the user to manage content for up to three websites. The free account includes unlimited users and permission settings, one account administrator, PageLime branding and no reseller tools. The Professional membership costs just under $20 per month and upgrades to include up to 50 websites, the navigation manager, the user’s branding and domain and reseller tools. The Business membership costs around $70 per month and includes unlimited websites and unlimited account managers. The high end Enterprise membership requires a custom quote for pricing.

PageLime is a helpful tool for anyone who manages website content. The system is simple and allows plenty of flexibility that increases the capabilities of this convenient application. Users are also given four membership types to choose from so they are only paying for as much access as they really need.
